SOPHIA AMARA
Sophia Amara (aka Sofi) is a Afro-Puerto Rican and Cuban Latina from the Bronx - one of the rawest Spanish female vocalists and lyricists rising under the mentorship of producer/songwriter, Sean LaGran.
The daughter of an Afro-Puerto Rican jazz singer and a Cuban refugee, she was raised on the heartbeat of jazz and the raw pulse of the Bronx streets. Sofi grew up surrounded by the warmth of music and the cold edge of struggle. Her parents were once broke musicians chasing their dreams, until life pushed them into survival mode. When her father fell into addiction and was tragically killed when she was just eight, Sofi learned early what pain sounds like—and what resilience feels like.
From that pain, and then introduced to Sean LaGran, Sofi carved purpose. She channels the melodies her mother taught her into smoky, jazz-infused vocals, blending them with the hip-hop rhythm she learned running through corner-blocks. Her music is concept-driven, deeply intentional, and spiritually tuned—crafted to share her vision, her story, and her frequencies with the world. Be on the look out for Sofi's upcoming music releases and project currently in production.
